Luxembourg for Tourism (LFT) intensified its efforts in 2024 to promote Luxembourg as a choice travel destination internationally, while further strengthening the Visit Luxembourg brand. The LFT General Assembly included a presentation of the Activity Report 2024, an outline of the LFT Strategy 2025, and the election of a new Management Board.
Past achievements and current visions were presented during the Luxembourg for Tourism GIE General Assembly, held on Thursday 5 June at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was chaired by Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism alongside Jeanne Tonnar, from the Directorate General for Tourism and Chairman of the Board, and Dr. Sebastian Reddeker, CEO of LFT.
Sebastian Reddeker presented the 2024 Activity Report to the board members from 16 different public and private organisations (see below for the full list). In 2024, Luxembourg reached a significant milestone by surpassing pre-pandemic tourist arrival levels, recording a 6% increase in arrivals compared to 2023 and a 16% increase compared to 2019, while prioritizing a sustainable development approach. LFT was a key player in this success thanks to the relevance of its analyses, the soundness of its strategic recommendations, and the effectiveness of its communication campaigns.
Sebastian Reddeker also reminded the Board of the current priorities and guiding principles from the LFT Strategy 2025 focusing on strengthening and protecting the “Visit Luxembourg” brand, further expanding national and international networks, developing niches and prioritising specific thematic communities.
"LFT is making a lasting contribution to the development of the Luxembourg tourism sector. This is demonstrated not only by the excellent figures in the annual report, but also by the high level of visitor satisfaction. The unique tourist attractions and diverse regions are important pillars for tourism and the economy in Luxembourg," says Minister Delles.
