Objectif:
To transform tourism in the Greater Region in a sustainable way. The focus lies on adapting business processes, developing new tourism products, and empowering tourism stakeholders in the field of sustainability. This transformation aims to leverage opportunities in a competitive context and strengthen the region’s position as an attractive and sustainable destination for nature-based tourism, cultural tourism and business travel (MICE).
To achieve this goal, the project is structured into three work modules:
- Market research will determine how the Greater Region is perceived as a sustainable and resilient tourism destination.
- Reframing will reshape the tourism offer by applying resilience testing, developing new segments and implementing modern communication strategies.
- Networking plays a decisive role by fostering targeted experience sharing, knowledge transfer and cooperation among stakeholders to create synergies.
The TRAFO GR project is an initiative within the Interreg Grande Région VI-A programme that aims to support the long-term sustainable transformation of tourism in the Greater Region.

Luxembourg for Tourism assumes the lead role in the “Market Research” work package. LFT coordinates the work package meetings and, in close collaboration with the involved partners, commissions, supports and supervises the data collection and analysis. The goal is to establish a reliable and relevant data foundation on which measures for the “Reframing” and “Networking” work packages can be developed. In cooperation with partners from three countries, Luxembourg for Tourism aims to make the tourism offer more sustainable and to strengthen the Greater Region, in the long term, as a resilient and future-oriented destination.
