At Memphis Coffee you dive into the cultural world of the US 50s. Music from the jukebox, with an impressive range of songs for you to choose from, glitzy brightly coloured furniture, period advertisements, a gas pump and a checkerboard-patterned floor.

We start our culinary journey with a cocktail, and select to pay for the drinks at the flat rate. The “Fabulous Tapas” are the American version of appetizers and include favourites like onion rings and chicken wings. We chose “Kings” for our main course from the big burger menu. Depending on how hungry you are, you can order your beef up to 6-times; it comes from France and is freshly delivered. Burgers are served with two side dishes: tasty fries with a homemade Memphis sauce and a small side salad. Still space for something more? Keep room for some dessert … cakes, shakes and ice-cream from Ben&Jerry’s.

Since the late 19th century, diners have become a major part of US urban culture. And now you can experience it in Beggen: relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, friendly servers in their stylish uniforms, and the amazing food and drinks menus have quickly attracted lots of happy regulars. Rue de Beggen is no North American Highway, but with some good Elvis sounds and glimpses of chocolate milkshakes through the window, you’ll be forgiven for thinking it is. Try it!
