LFT in Dubai: new contacts and positive media feedback

The World Expo 2020 in Dubai is a magnet for visitors, also – and in particular – for representatives of tourism destinations. During the course of the “Luxembourg Tourism Days” in November 2021, the LFT team visited the Luxembourg Pavilion to represent the country in an inspiring way and to make promising new contacts. Sixty-six travel agencies attended the workshops at the “Luxembourg Tourism Days”, including the Omeir Travel Agency, Al Rais Travels and Dnata Travels, as well as eight travel media organisations, including Conde Nast Traveller, Forbes Middle East Magazine and Gulf Today.

Animated images created a pleasant atmosphere during the presentation by Sebastian Reddeker, CEO of LFT, and Noémie Schuler, communications manager at Luxembourg Convention Bureau. This dreamlike journey through the capital city and the regions of the Grand Duchy was very well received by the audience: “Great job, I have never been so inspired by a presentation! Be proud of your country! I will for sure visit Luxembourg on my next Europe trip!” (Omeir Travel Agency John Varkey Kailath, Manager - VIP Holidays). Revathy Williams, Senior Tour Consultant at Al Tayer Travel was also impressed by ‘Destination Luxembourg’: “Very interesting destination for our clients, so much to discover, your presentation really influenced me to encourage our clients to book their next trip with their families to Luxembourg.”

In the Luxembourg Pavilion, a gastronomic event with examples of the country’s specialities invited participants to gather their own impressions of the culinary diversity of the Grand Duchy. During the Tourism Days, Tourism Minister Lex Delles and LFT CEO Dr Sebastian Reddeker were also interviewed for a variety of media. The Grand Duchy is correspondingly presented as the ideal travel destination on a total of 22 pages in the resulting print publication. By December 2021, the print versions of the publications had reached more than 355,000 readers – and actually topped the mark of 19 million online readers.
